Neighbors Connect Family

Our program has specifically focused on closing the digital divide, providing holistic support including device access, connectivity solutions, and culturally responsive education. We understand the intersection of technology barriers with systemic inequities and have developed trauma-informed, culturally relevant approaches to digital education.

This program will have a two session training program. At the end of the second training the participant will receive their own laptop. The first training session will cover basic computer skills like:

  • Understand how to power on computer

  • Connect to internet

  • Open browser

  • Check email

The second training will cover more digital life skills like:

  • Communication skills (email, Zoom, Teams)

  • Apply for benefits

  • Conduct online medical appointments

With this training we will also go over how to access the Northstar digital literacy program. This will allow participants to further their digital knowledge. As well as online safety to make sure everyone knows how to stay safe while being online.
